About - Silicon Valley High School

ABOUT

Silicon Valley High School (SVHS) is an AI software-driven accredited school powering a digital revolution in secondary education. SVHS publishes a catalog of supplemental online courses and powers other schools across the US with its flipped classroom learning management system and its online curriculum of more than 60 video-based, self-paced, teacher-supported courses.

SVHS is accredited by ACS WASC, and by Cognia (formerly “AdvancED”). We offer a full-time diploma program as well as an online catalog of quality, affordable online courses for students looking to supplement their high school studies elsewhere. Our courses are approved by organizations such as the NCAA and University of California (a-g).

SVHS sells courses to students directly and provides its Online Curriculum to schools looking to quickly leap into the digital age by blending teacher-led classroom sessions with online study at home. Schools who adopt our curriculum often act as the school of record.

Education of Tomorrow—Today

Since it was founded by a former Apple executive in 2013, Silicon Valley High School has applied proprietary software and a modern Silicon Valley-style approach to building the most efficient and effective high school and online course publisher. SVHS is headquartered in the US but engineered to deliver quality, next-generation education to students and schools all over the world.

One of the World's Largest High Schools

Serving more than 50,000 enrolled students, Silicon Valley High School has rapidly grown to be one of the top 5 schools in the world.

Mission

Our mission is to change the world, one student at a time, through AI-supported personalized education. This means providing quality, personalized, affordable and ever-improving educational paths for all students to pursue their ambitions.

Vision

As the Internet develops as the world’s largest library of quality educational content, and AI capabilities are brought to market, we see students increasingly taking their high school classes online. With quality, compelling online courses available at reasonable cost, high school will grow more accessible, more relevant, more interesting and more adaptive to the needs of the individual student.

Accreditation

SVHS accredited by both WASC and Cognia.

Silicon Valley High School was accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) with code 44 75432 417.

Cognia is the largest community of education professionals in the world. Cognia is the trusted partner to 34,000 educational institutions—employing more than four million educators and enrolling more than 20 million students—across the United States and 70 other nations.

AdvancED (now Cognia), was established in 2006 when the Board of Directors of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) and the Board of Trustees of the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI) made a unanimous decision to unify their respective organizations. The National Study of School Evaluation (NSSE) also joined the unification. In 2012, the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC) joined AdvancED as the third accreditation division.

SVHS courses are approved by organizations such as the NCAA, Quality Matters and University of California (UC A-G)
