INTEGRATED MATH 1, PART 2

Integrated Math 1, Part 2 is the second semester of Integrated Math 1 and connects algebraic and geometric reasoning through the study of lines, systems, transformations, triangles, and data. Students analyze parallel and perpendicular lines, solve systems of equations and inequalities, and use rigid motions and congruence theorems to investigate figures and triangles. Students explore triangle centers and inequalities before concluding with statistics and data analysis, including measures of center and spread, data displays, two-way tables, scatterplots, and linear models. Integrated Math 1 is approved by the University of California A-G as mathematics (category C).

Upon completion of this course, the student is awarded 5 credits. Each credit corresponds to 15 hours of study. Of course, some students work more quickly than others, and some can devote more hours to study, so some students are able to complete the course at an accelerated rate.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Triangle centers, midsegments, perpendicular bisectors, angle bisectors, medians, and altitudes.
  • How to apply triangle inequalities and indirect reasoning.
  • How to organize, represent, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data.
  • How to interpret measures of center and spread, two-way tables, scatterplots, trend lines, and linear models.
