INTEGRATED MATH 1, PART 1

Integrated Math 1, Part 1 is the first semester of Integrated Math 1 and develops foundational algebraic and geometric reasoning skills. The course includes expressions and operations; equations and inequalities; measurements and proof; relations and functions; and linear equations and inequalities. Students simplify and evaluate expressions, solve equations and inequalities, use measurement, constructions, logic, and proof to analyze geometric relationships, and apply function concepts to linear equations, inequalities, variation, piecewise functions, absolute value functions, and inverse functions. Integrated Math 1 is approved by the University of California A-G as mathematics (category C).

Upon completion of this course, the student is awarded 5 credits. Each credit corresponds to 15 hours of study. Of course, some students work more quickly than others, and some can devote more hours to study, so some students are able to complete the course at an accelerated rate.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

In this module, students gain a comprehension of the following:

  • Algebraic foundations, including real numbers, expressions, and properties of operations.
  • How to simplify and evaluate algebraic expressions.
  • How to solve equations, proportions, literal equations, and absolute value equations.
  • How to write, solve, and graph linear, compound, and absolute value inequalities.
